About WHO Thailand Library
WHO Thailand is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the RTG/WHO collaborative programme, which includes such technical areas as health systems reform, emerging and re-emerging diseases, health promotion, tobacco, border health and technical cooperation.
Additionally, we support other WHO Offices in organizing inter-country or international workshops/conferences/seminars, placing in-coming fellows for short- and long-term training courses, recruitment of Thai consultants to assist other countries, purchasing supplies and equipment, coordinating reference laboratory tests, contracting support for global and regional research studies, arranging programmes for visiting WHO staff and consultants, and disseminating WHO publications and updated health information.
The Library at the Office of the WHO Representative to Thailand functions as a portal for information related to health care services and health literature from the WHO and global information resources with special emphasis on Thailand and South-East Asia Region.
There are over one thousand information materials at our library. Library collection consists of monographs, serials, documents, audiovisuals and current news items on health sciences focusing on Public Health subject area. Formally published WHO information materials, unpublished documents and reports on numerous activities of the WHO are also available at the library.
Several information items are provided. Our library, therefore, serves as the most comprehensive source of WHO information materials in the country.
